Funnel Cakes and the Zipper

Michael Bromley Imaging

I love going to the county fairs and carnivals because there is so many subjects to photograph.  Add in a tripod and doing some exposure bracketing and boy do you have a cool combo for an image.  This image was actually one frame converted into an psuedo-HDR but using the data already in a Raw file.   I love how the light is spinning in the photo you can really feel what was going on here.  The lady in the left side of the photo seems to be awful bored with her job though!   In the background a ride called the zipper which I know many folks are fond of,  myself I rather watch everyone have the fun on that ride then join in too much spinning for my likes!  Although my camera sure did like it!

" I Dare you not to smile!"

“ I dare you not to smile!”
Today’s post is one of my favorite photos I’ve taken to date. My son is just about 9 months old, he is one of the happiest babies I know. He smiles at strangers, jumps for hugs, loves playing with our dogs and can’t wait to crawl anywhere he pleases. Some of you may know I am a stay at home father and I take care of this little guy during the day while my wife is at work. I have never had a job that I looked forward to getting up in the morning before this, although my photography is right up there and almost as gradifying. This is different though, it is so rewarding to watch him grow and know that my wife and I are behind it.
Now I DON’T dance for anyone! Especially in public but if he is looking at me while in his toy and needs a smile you better bet I’m that guy dancing and fumbling around just to have a chance to see that expression. Being a parent is one tough job, but surely one of the biggest gifts one could receive in life. I look forward to each day with my growing family and being able to capture many more images like this. Thanks very much for reading my blog, I hope you enjoyed it!

Ben and Amber Wedding Day Memories

Recently I received the chance to photograph a wedding for this lovely couple Ben and Amber. I can’t say how excited I was to take part in their wedding day fun! Every step of the way was a true blast, great location, weather was perfect and a wonderful day altogether. I was told I had free reign with my photography, so I took the chance to play and had some great results playing with light. I just wanted to thank Ben and Amber for inviting me to be apart of their big day, treating me like family and trusting me to take care of their memories.
